A brain tumor is a mass or development of abnormal cells in the brain.
There are several kinds of brain tumors, some are noncancerous, and others are cancerous. While some brain tumors can start in your brain, called primary brain tumors, cancer can still start in other parts of the body and spread eventually to the brain known as secondary brain tumors.
How fast a brain tumor grows could vary widely. The growth rate and the site of a brain tumor determines how it will impact the function of the nervous system.
Cause of Brain / Tumor Cancer
Some causes of brain cancer include exposure to unusual amounts of radiation from X-rays, CT scans, and radiotherapy, overweight and obesity, Family history and genetics.
Common Symptoms & Signs of Brain Tumor / Cancer
Since different parts of your brain regulate different functions, brain cancer symptoms will vary according to the cancer's location. The most common signs and symptoms may include:
- Headaches
- Convulsions or seizures
- Trouble thinking, talking or finding words
- Personality or behavior shifts
- Memory loss
- Confusion and disorientation
- Numbness, weakness, or paralysis in one part or one side of the body
- Vision changes
- Loss of hearing
- Loss of balance, unsteadiness or dizziness
